The headlines read “Pharmaceutical company to quit taking Viagra over cost” and “Will it help us stay one of the most expensive medicines in the world?” Or, more specifically, “Will it help us stay on the road to a cheaper medicine?”

In its letter to the FDA, the organisation said it had received “high-level, clear and comprehensive information” about the treatment “which is needed to help provide a more affordable and safer option for men and women suffering from erectile dysfunction.”
The letter called for Pfizer to review its “review and regulatory framework for medicines and develop a new product with a similar composition, dosage and route of administration” toTreating Erectile Dysfunctionthat would include a “broad-spectrum medicine” that would “have the same active ingredients as Viagra andhave the same effects and safety profile.”
The organisation added that it was “orgasmatically aware of the concerns and is aware of the need for a change in the regulatory process” in order to “ensure the safety and efficacy ofand address its potential adverse events.”
In an email toPharmacy News, the organisation said it was “not surprised” by the FDA’s advice.
Pfizer’s letter was also received bywho said there was “no indication thatis safe for use in men or women, and no indication thatis effective at improving sexual function or sexual satisfaction.”
The letter also called for consumers to speak to a healthcare professional if they had experienced any unusual symptoms while takingor if they had experienced other side effects such as headaches, dizziness or nausea.
